  • 6 medium fresh peaches, peeled, sliced (about 5-1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup pecan halves, toasted, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. tapioca

  • 1-1/2 cups Post Original Shredded Wheat Spoon Size Cereal, finely crushed
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine, melted

  2. Place peach mixture in ungreased 1-1/2-quart baking dish; sprinkle evenly with cereal mixture.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until topping is browned and peaches are tender. Serve warm topped with frozen yogurt, if desired.

Tips and Suggestions

Substitute: Substitute 1-1/2 lb. frozen sliced peaches or 2 (29-oz.) cans of drained sliced peaches for the fresh peaches.

Special Extra: Substitute 1 cup fresh blueberries for 1 cup of the sliced peaches.

Autumn Fruit Crisp: Prepare as directed, substituting 5 cups sliced peeled apples or pears, or a mixture of both, for the peaches.

Nutrition Bonus: Served warm from the oven, this fragrant crisp is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. The peaches provide a good source of vitamin A, and the shredded wheat cereal makes a crunchy whole-grain topping.
