  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter, divided
  • 3 cups Grape-Nuts Cereal
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate


  1. Mix brown sugar and corn syrup in large microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2 minutes or until mixture comes to boil. Stir in 3/4 cup of the peanut butter until well blended. Add cereal; mix well.
  2. Press cereal mixture firmly into 13x9-inch pan.
  3. Microwave chocolate and remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter in medium microwavable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until chocolate is completely melted when stirred, stirring after 45 seconds. Spread evenly over cereal mixture.
  4. Refrigerate 1 hour until chocolate layer is set. Cut into 36 squares.

Tips and Suggestions

Cooking Know-How: For quick easy removal of squares, line pan with foil sprayed with cooking spray before adding cereal mixture.

How to Cut Cereal Squares: Don't be square! When cutting bar cookies, create various shapes. For triangles, start by cutting the cookies into squares. Then cut each square in half diagonally to form triangles. For diamonds, cut straight lines down the length of the pan, then cut more straight lines the same width apart diagonally across the pan.
